On Monday, November 23, 2009 seven lucky Crockett County Middle School students traveled to Murray State University in Murray, KY to participate in the 65th annual Quad State Junior High Honor Band Festival. These students were selected through an application process that included their musical accomplishments as well as a director recommendation. After being selected, they travel to Murray to join students from Tennessee, Illinois, Kentucky, and Missouri in rehearsals and then perform in a public concert that same night. It is a lot of hard work but is a very rewarding experience for these young musicians.
